When I met Arriel on Facebook and saw the very cool pieces of jewelry that she designs, I had to make her a featured artisan!
Ari creates custom designed and handcrafted jewelry using “wire, swarovski crystal, gemstones, organic beads, vintage beads and have used materials such as recycled paper, decoupage, silk ribbon & leather. It really depends on the piece.”
I love ethnic jewelry and Ari did a great job with this necklace.

Ari discovered her talent when “several years back a co-worker asked me to reconstruct some jewelry she had of her grandmother’s – basically some vintage beads, including Bakelite. I ended up creating 5 or 6 pieces out of them – one was given to her daughter-in-law to wear on her wedding day (something old) – it was also blue! After that, I was hooked.”
I asked Ari where her jewelry can be purchased and she told me, “I sell on my website AriDesigns and on AriDesignsArtfire. I also sell at art shows and street fairs, as well as selling at my work-place and anywhere I can find customers! I carry my goody-bag with me everywhere, including my credit card processor.” What a great idea, Ari – carrying a goody-bag with you. I am a ring addict and if I saw this ring, I would have to have it LOL!

Ari’s goals are to be a full-time studio in the near future and this year she plans on taking metalsmithing courses. She is “very excited about all the new possibilities!”
Currently she has a full-time job that is “not related to my jewelry business. I am so committed to my art and my business that I somehow find the energy and time to create custom orders and sell my jewelry. I would love to find a wider audience for my work. The logo I chose for my business was very deliberate. I am very passionate about what I do! When I sell a piece I have created, it really does make my day!”

I asked Ari if she has other creative talents. She told me “I have been a creative soul all my life. I love all forms of art. I have studied piano from a very young age, as well as playing flute and guitar. I also became a band photographer when my husband was playing full-time. I used to have a darkroom and develop all my own pictures. Now I love using my digital camera. I have also had poetry and writing published over the years. Now I have a blog – so check it out AriDesigns Blogspot. It’s funny how things evolve over time. I am now obsessed with my new art form and want to learn all I can.” I must say, good obsession!

Ari spends her spare time with “My husband and I have two rescue bulldogs and two rescue cats. I am a real animal nut. We also love birds and nature.”
“My goal is to travel the world. I am inspired by other cultures and people of different backgrounds. My favorite artists are Georgia O’Keefe and Monet. I also love Israeli artists – they are so colorful & truly unique. I am also inspired by classic rock artists and the bands I grew up with. I have had a life-long obsession with the Rolling Stones. You can probably tell that by looking at my blog!”
